Overview

Busti is a town in south-central Chautauqua County, bordered to the north by Chautauqua Lake (and beyond that, the town of Ellery) and the city of Jamestown, to the east by Kiantone, to the south by Pennsylvania (Warren County) and to the west by the towns of North Harmony and Harmony.



Essentials

Lakewood has some interesting specialty shops and its retail center has been growing, but the big shopping attraction here is Chautauqua Mall. The mall has major retailers like JC Penney, Sears and lots more, as well as a movie-theater multiplex. Lakewood also has a Walmart Supercenter. Nearby Jamestown also has a Walmart Supercenter, a Sam’s Club and more small stores.



Recreation & Entertainment

With its setting on the shores of Chautauqua Lake, the village of Lakewood’s big attraction is Lakewood Beach (also known as Richard O. Harley Park), which has a public beach, a boat launch, tennis courts and more. The park’s gazebo plays host to a series of free summertime concerts. Chautauqua Mall has a movie-theater multiplex and lots more. Statewide Speedway in Busti offers drag racing.



Transportation & Traffic

Route 474 intersects Route 394 in the northwest part of Busti.



Pros & Cons

Busti is a well-populated town that still maintains small-town charm. Lakewood’s Chautauqua Mall is one of the region’s shopping centers. Proximity to Jamestown, Chautauqua Lake and Pennsylvania are plusses.
