Overview Cherry Creek is a town in the central part of the eastern edge of Chautauqua County, bordered to the north by Villenova, to the east by Cattaraugus County (town of Leon), to the south by Ellington and to the west by Charlotte (and the village of Sinclairville). The town of Cherry Creek contains a village of the same name. This is another small town, with just over 1,000 residents, and an area of little development and lots of wide-open space for things like boating, kayaking, camping and fishing. The town has several Amish shops for goods like quilts, woodworking, and baked goods. Local Museums & Landmarks There are no museums to speak of here and little in the way of development. The biggest draws here were Cockaigne Ski Area, which is no longer in operation, and the train depot, which now houses a small gift shop. The Cherry Creek Inn is a gathering spot for town events.

Essentials Other than a small Crossroads Grocery store on Main Street, you’ll have to travel a short distance for shopping needs. For groceries, there’s a Tops Friendly Markets store in Randolph, Cattaraugus County, about 14 miles southeast of Cherry Creek. In Jamestown, about 20 miles southwest of Cherry Creek, you’ll find a Wegmans supermarket, a Tops Friendly Markets store, a Save-a-Lot and much more. For retail shopping, the best bets are Fredonia (about 19 miles northwest of Cherry Creek), which has a Walmart Supercenter, a Sears Hometown Store and more, and Jamestown, which has a Big Lots, a dollar store and more. Chautauqua Mall in Lakewood is about 30 miles southwest of Cherry Creek. Students who live here attend either the Pine Valley Central School District (which is based in South Dayton), or the Cassadaga Valley Central School District. The closest libraries are Sinclairville Free Library in Sinclairville or the Farman Free Library in Ellington. The closest hospital is WCA Hospital in Jamestown.
